The project
About the project
Our way to achieve our goal of contributing to conservation will be through three pillars:
-The first, biotrade: Illegal trafficking of species has caused a large part of the species to be decimated over the years, so, through ethical and responsible breeding in situ, we want to offer a legal and sustainable way of obtain specimens in addition to reintroducing part of the success in breeding. Over time and collaboration with the authorities, we will be able to work with species that are more important and need more help.
-The second pillar, reforestation: The site of La Tierra De Las Phyllomedusa is located in Pamashto, and has been recovering little by little thanks to intense reforestation. Through donations and our own work, we will bring life to the lands around us. Turning our lands into a small sanctuary.
The third and last one is the education: it is important to be able to show the inhabitants of Pamashto the importance of amphibians, teaching them the privilege they have of living with them and even being able to count on their help to conserve the jungle that we are losing day by day. . We will also offer volunteering to be able to show our work to students, community members, and even foreigners, who want to learn about the wonders that, after so many years, they have overlooked.
Bioterium
In the bioterium we are going to raise the clutches of the frogs exsitu
Frog Ponds
The ponds are the most important part of our project, where the frogs are going to lay the clutches, made their life...and let the people learn about their behaviour.
Artificial Streams
100% functional streams to provide moving currents to the terrain. The flora and Fauna loves to have more streams and water sources, that are less common on this part of Peru due to the steep slope.
